June 2007 News:
National Masorti Women's Study Day

Dear Friends of Schechter,

We extend a cordial invitation to all women (those of you who live in Israel and those of you who will be in Israel on June 22nd) to participate in the Annual Women's Study Day , organized by Women's League in cooperation with the Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies and the Masorti Movement.

This year's theme - "Jewish Women in Literature: Rabbinic, Shakespearian, Modern" is dedicated to our modern heroine, Prof. Alice Shalvi and in memory of our teacher Zipi Heckelman.

The study day will bring together the finest of Israel 's scholars, the majority of whom are lecturers at Schechter or graduates of its Rabbinical Seminary or MA programs in Applied Jewish Studies.

This unique day provides learning in four languages: Hebrew, English, Spanish and Russian and has evolved into a major  "happening" bringing women from all over Israel to Jerusalem to learn and grow together.  We've attached the full schedule of lectures as well as biographies in Hebrew and English of all lecturers.

So save the date:  Friday, June 22nd, 8:30 am - 15:00 pm at the Schechter Institute, 4 Avraham Granot St., Jerusalem.

telephone: 02-6790755
